King Saul isn’t trying to kill me but I will still pray like King David

This morning when I woke up I remembered King David’s prayer in Psalm 5. He left directions for the director of music: for flutes. I don’t have a flute. And if you lent me one, I wouldn’t know how to play it.

But I can pray.

King David prayed early in the morning. He asked God for help. He was living in the wilderness with 600 men, trying to escape from King Saul who was trying to kill him.

The case of the clogged sink and the missing Allen Wrench

Being a mom is hard work. You try to keep it all together. You cook and clean and you fix the garbage disposal when it jams.

It is simple. Just take an Allen Wrench stick it in the bottom of the garbage disposal and turn it.

The only problem is I don’t know where the Allen Wrench is.

Running outside barefoot in the snow, or how to be known as a crazy neighbor

Did you just see a woman running out of her front door in a pair of grey sweatpants and a sweatshirt this morning at 7:08 a.m.? Did you notice she was barefoot?

She ran outside and down her driveway and waved her arms in the air over her head at her neighbors car across from her house that was backing out of the driveway.

I Almost Never Met Him

It is 9:17 at night. I just finished washing the dishes, but I am not going to wash the pot I burnt the broccoli in, it can wait until morning.

I looked at the time and date on the bottom of my screen and saw that today is January 26th.

Oh my stars! Today is the day I met my husband!

Happy Birthday Daddy, did I do a good job?

I think my father’s birthday is today. Or maybe it was yesterday.  I am not sure what day he was born. His mother said today, and he said yesterday. They are both dead now, so there is no one to ask. Today I thought about my father. I thought about him while I made my […]

Never leave the bathtub running and always choose one word for the New Year

I was tired. The thought of a warm bath, sounded relaxing. I started the water running, then I went downstairs for a few minutes to write. After I wrote, I washed a few dishes, then painted in my studio, and moved a few boxes in the basement. Then I heard water running. Then I was running. […]

Kill the Dragon or cut off a Philistine’s Head

This morning there was a dragon on my staircase. The staircase that leads to the basement. The basement where my painting studio is. The dragon taunted me, his roars kept me in bed this morning for two hours. Stay in bed! Don’t paint! Who cares! Don’t finish! I was awake at four, but I didn’t […]

Not everyone likes to eat sardines and not everyone will like what you create

Whatever it takes to finish things, finish. You will learn more from a glorious failure than you ever will from something you never finished. ― Neil Gaiman Yesterday I rearranged the furniture in the living room. I didn’t want to finish a project. I don’t want to learn anything from a glorious failure, I would […]

Women can get their ego’s boosted by wearing an Ego Booster Bra

Warning: Graphic content. There is a video of a woman wearing a bra. “The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.” ― C.G. Jung I can not accept myself completely Mr. Jung. How can I accept myself when my bust size is so much smaller than other women. I really want to feel better about […]

It is hard to come home

We went away for a few days, and now we are home, back to our old routines. Back to waking up early and writing. Back to seven litter boxes and cat barf on the carpet. I wonder what they ate that made one of the cats sick? And I feel lost. What should I do […]
