Hello. Welcome to i paint i write.
My name is Pamela, not Pam. I am a writer and an artist. I write to encourage and to bring laughter. I paint cats, draw cartoons and write books for children and grown ups.
I write about my life: my past, my present and my future. If I my life is a pizza, then my writing is a daily slice. Some of the pieces only have cheese on them, and some have pepperoni and black olives.
Now why would you want to read me every day? Read a few reasons here.
Pamela is one of my favorite writers, funny as all get out, but always with a profoundly honest message.
Kathleen Caron – {full of life}
I love your stories even though I don’t read the same books as you!
Love from Mom
I so enjoy reading Pamela’s folksy, quirky words. Her writing is honest and brave and beautifully blunt. I paint I write has been a gem of a find.
Janelle Ross – My Men and Me
Steven Pressfield, the author of, The War of Art, said,
A writer is a writer when he says he is.
– Steven Pressfield
Sometimes I have to go and stand in front of a mirror and say it to myself. “Hey Pamela, you are what you say you are. Now say it.” Then I say to my reflection, “I am a writer. I am an artist.”
I started this blog on January 1st, 2012 because I wanted to fight the desire to be perfect.
I have kept writing because I want to:
1. Find meaning in washing dishes every day.
2. Heal from past hurts by exposing them to the light.
3. Share my struggles to help others.
4. Writing is fun.
5. If I am writing, I don’t have to clean out the basement.
