It was still dark when I woke up this morning. The only light in my bedroom was from my alarm clock. The sun wouldn’t rise for another hour. I walked downstairs, and fed the cats.
Usually the first thing I do in the morning after I feed the cats is check my e-mail. Then I write a story, answer comments,and read other blogs. I eat breakfast, wash dishes, and throw a load in the laundry. I drag my bible out Friday nights for a bible study, and sometimes I take my bible to church on Sunday. I usually just read the verse on the screen behind the pastor.
For a few months in 1998 I read a chapter in Proverbs every day. One year I read through the whole bible. I pray when I need something or when I am sick. Last week I prayed a couple of times and I prayed this morning.
Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing.
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
Psalm 5:1-3
This morning after I fed the cats, I opened my bible and read Psalm 5. Then I prayed.
I spend time with my friends to get to know them better. If I want to know more about Jesus I need to spend time with him. I just read the first chapter in Mark. Even Jesus prayed.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Mark: 1:35
I am working on creating new habits. Tomorrow I will read my bible after I feed the cats. I will pray and then I will write.
Now I will go and eat my breakfast, spinach and sardines.
What did you do this morning? What did you eat for breakfast?
Please let my know in the comments. I would love to chat.
