If I my life is a pizza, then my writing is a daily slice. Some of the pieces only have cheese on them and some have pepperoni.
Today there is no pizza.
I don’t want to tell you what to do with your dictionary. I don’t want to tell you how to have a best friend. I don’t want to tell you how low your neck-line should be, or why your shouldn’t compare or hide in your closet.
I won’t tell you to brush your teeth before bed. I won’t tell you to clean out your basement. I won’t tell you to eat everything on your plate before you get your desert.
Wait.
I do want to tell you something.
1. Write a letter to a friend and tell them how much they mean to you.
And quit whining about it. Yes, I did mean get out a pen and write something on a piece of paper; stick your letter in an envelope and mail it. If you want to send an e-mail in addition to the letter, I give you permission to do send an e-mail. But, you must still write a letter. In addition to, not instead of.
2. Tell someone you love today, “I love you.”
If they don’t live close to you, then use the telephone. If they live close enough to see them in person, then tell them in person. If you have to drive to their house, then drive there. If they live with you, tell them to their face. Look them in the eye when you say, “I love you.” Keep saying it until they tell you to stop.
3. If you want to cry, go ahead and cry.
If the person you want to talk to is dead. I’m sorry. I’m sorry you can’t tell them you love them anymore. I want to make your sorrow better. But I know I can’t. It’s your pain and your sorrow. I have a big sad inside of me too. Today is a good day to cry.
It is raining today in Gilbertsville, Pennyslvania, The United States of America. I wonder if it is raining in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada?
Will you tell someone you love them?
Please let me know in the comments. I would love to chat.
