
Patrica Storbec and her husband live on a boat, Mojito. She writes a couple of times a week about her adventures at Mojito and Me. A few days ago she hired two divers to scrub the bottom of her boat. It was covered in grass and barnacles.
After the boat was scrubbed Patricia said, “She can glide through the water like a seal again.”
I thought, “I want to be like her boat, gliding through the water like a seal.”
But I feel like her boat in the photograph before it was scrubbed. I am burdened by my bad habits and hangups, I am covered in barnacles and grass.
Green, slimy.
I wish I had a way to clean off my barnacles.
“Hey, wait a minute. I don’t have to have barnacles and grass on my boat.
They are there by my choice. I choose to live this way. I could give my cares away. I can ask for help.”
Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let

Today I ask God, “Please God help me with my bad habits. Please help me sort through the boxes in my basement. Please help me be wise with how I spend my time. Please help me forgive. Please help me control my thoughts.”
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
Philippians 4:8
I am a seal now. Gliding through the water. Now I am gliding down the stairs to my basement.
