Do you feel like quitting?
Don’t.
Were you going to run every day, but you missed a day? Did you want to stop eating sugar, but you ate a cookie yesterday?
Did you say you were going to do something, and then you didn’t do it? And now you want to quit?
Do you want to sell your running shoes at your yardsale this weekend? Do you want to shove a dozen cookies in your face? Do you have negative voices in your head,
“You might as well just give up. Go ahead, eat that cookie. Who do you think you are? Just quit. You are not a runner.”
My plan this year was to write every day. I was going to write and publish a story every day on my blog, but I missed a day. Then I missed another day, and another day, and another day.
Now there is today.
Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about.

Push delete on the negative sound track. Seriously, push delete right now, and put in a new tape. Or upload a new file. Replay positive thoughts.

As I was uploading the photograph for this story, my daughter Timber asked me, “Hey Mama, do you know how your story is about not quitting? You are sort of a hypocrite. You said to not quit, and you quit. You didn’t write this weekend.”
