Jesse Michael Hoffman, died four days ago on September 7th, 2013. He was 26. Jesse leaves behind a four-year old son, Christian, and a wife, Jamie. I don’t know Jamie very well . We have never had coffee together; we have never gone for a walk. I don’t know when her birthday is.
Jamie was one of the first people to be kind to me when we moved here. She smiled at me and asked how I was doing when I saw her at church. We became Facebook friends, and I followed her life when she showed photographs of her family.
Today Jamie posted this scripture verse on her Facebook status.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
This morning when I went for a walk I saw a stump of a tree that had been cut down. When I saw the stump I thought of Jesse Hoffman and his death.
Usually I write about my daily life; about how hard it is for me to wash my dishes every day. And sometimes I write about how I struggle to clean the clutter out of my basement.
Today all I want to write about is a woman who lost her husband, and a boy who lost his dad, and a mother who lost a son, and a sister who lost a brother, and grandparents who lost their grandson.
Here is Jesse Michael Hoffman’s Obituary in the Phoenixville news.
One of Jesse’s friends, Michelle Myers, started a Give Forward fundraiser on Facebook to help Jamie pay for the funeral. As I write this they have raised $3,500 dollars of the $8,000 goal. 45% of the money.
Would you please consider helping Jamie and her son Christian? Will you consider giving a few dollars to help them pay for the funeral? You can click on this link to donate.
