Your cup is empty; you want to fill it.
You are not your paycheck, your waist size, your hair color, your gray hair, your wig, your dye job. You are not your wrinkles, or your stomach over your jeans. You are not your parents or your uncle who molested you. You are not your job or your brother or your sister.
You are not your neighbour, and you are not your lawn mover and you are not your dog or the amount of money you have saved. You are not your trips to Italy or your retirement account.
You are not your past.
You are what is inside of you,
Your soul.
If your cup is empty, you can not fill it with money or sex or toys or a new haircut. Your value is not measured by the money in your pocket.
You can not fill your cup with anything but God to have value.
God loves you, He made you, Your only value is in who you are. Take off all your clothes, throw away all your money, walk naked in the street, that is who you are.
Naked you were born, naked you will die.
God made you. He loves you.
Fill your cup with God. Fill your cup with the truth.
The truth is, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, Case closed. “No doubt about it,” as my dad use to say before he died naked.

Writing for 5 minutes, unedited for 5 minute Friday with Lisa-Jo Baker. Today’s word is TRUTH. (I do go back and correct my spelling mistakes, but the rest is unedited. Just have to be honest with you. ) You can read other Truth stories here.
Who are you? What is in your cup? Please tell me in the comments.
