I care for you.
But how do I show you? I care for you by washing your sheets and sweeping the floor in your room, carrying your dirty dishes, dried chicken bones, bread crusts, to the kitchen.
But you ask me to come and see you instead. I can show you I care by just sitting quietly beside you. Being there. I don’t understand this, but I will listen, and not wash your sheets or clean your floor or carry your dishes to the sick in the kitchen.
I will drive and park and take the elevator to your room and sit beside you.
Because I do care, and I will show you that, by doing nothing but being there.
Here.
